Spending infinite amounts of time between layers, but only in twenty minutes (+/- 5) bursts. The amount of time I spend in Photoshop is inversely proportional to the number of layers in the file. :(

Yesterday I thought "And what if I use just one layer and avoid the wrong-layer-error". Ever since my discovery of layers, I hadn't looked back. Of course, back then my Photoshop skills were even poorer than today. Anyway, I put aside the file I was working on, and started a fresh new drawing. Just one layer, just one. Since it was a relatively quick drawing and with not so much of great expectations from it, I felt totally liberated. Mistakes? Yes, but what the heck, that is what is all about, making mistakes and correct them on the same layer. Don't you hate when you spend several minutes on Photoshop only to realize that you were working on the wrong layer? That just happened to me. Not the first time and, most likely, not the last one. Nothing I could do. I had to close without saving and reopen the file. Bummer. And those of you who wisely save your work every few minutes, be careful cause you may be saving with the wrong-layer-error and that is even worse than not saving at all.
